The National Tea Party Federation expelled the Tea Party Express this week over how to handle racist views. Tea Party Express leader Mark Williams decided that it was time for them to be honest about their racism and to come out of the closet and say what they really mean. And Mark did so by writing a satirical letter to President Abraham Lincoln about what "colored people" want.

No No No says the National Tea Party Federation. You don't call them "colored people". That's highly offensive.You have to respect them by calling them "people of color". This is an election year and the National Tea Party Federation, made up of former Republican leaders like Newt Gingrich and Dick Army, understand that overt racism doesn't win elections. Their position is to hide the racism, stay in the closet, and be politically correct. Don't say what you really think. So the National Tea Party Federation expelled the Tea Party Express because they refused to lie about how they really feel.

The Republican Party completely understands that there is a difference between what you do and what you say. The Republicans get it! They have a person of color, Michael Steele, as the Republican National Committee Chairman. And even though Mr. Steele had a little problem with RNC money paying to take a group of Christian conservatives to a lesbian bondage themed sex club, Mr. Steele keeps his job; possibly sending a message to the political left that there might be a place for affirmative action in the Republican Party.

So who is right? Do voters respect honesty?

Now there are two Tea Parties. One for those who are openly racist and one for those who are not comfortable being openly racist. Who says the Tea Party isn’t a big tent? And they are all going to vote Republican this fall because even though they have a black chairman, they have a long history of racist voting records and legislation.

Although America has come a long way in electing our first mixed race president, we are not there yet. Racism is not over and Obama in the first. I remember as a child hearing discussions about if Kennedy could be an effective president because he is Catholic.Obamaa is the first, and when you are first, your culture is on trial. The issue of whether Blacks are ready to lead America, especially during these troubled times.

Think about it. What are the Republicans running on? Do you think they are running on their record of accomplishment? Even they don’t say that! So it’s a good thing in my opinion to get the whole racial thing out in the open and talk about it. Because in order for racism to really go away, we have to merge our cultures and both sides will have to give up segregationist thinking. And it’s going to take some time before we get there.

But I personally an not allow racial issues to distract me in choosing my leaders. What matters to me in this election is that we are in tough times and I want to choose the candidate who is wisest and who is most likely to make the right choices that get us from where we are to where we need to be. So my criteria is based on who has the best plan? Convince us that you can make it happen. I want someone with a deep respect for reality and who understands that if you don’t get right with reality, that there are consequences. You want my vote then inspire me with your vision of the future. Is your vision “Star Trek”? “The Matrix,” or “Planet of the Apes”? I want to hear “Star Trek”.

Civil Rights? What Civil Rights?

Let us pause for a moment here to praise a state for standing up for what we quaintly used to call "civil rights." You remember those? You remember the days before we were all suspects in crimes that hadn't occurred but, boy, oh, boy, they sure might? The Rude Pundit thinks there was a brief period between about 1975 and 2000 when that was actually true. Oh, what fun we had.

Now, amid Arizona's "The Constitution can blow a cactus" show-your-papers law and the support it's been getting from other states (not to mention piquant bits of spicy bullshit like Louisiana's Jesus wants you locked and loaded law), it's almost touchingly nostalgic, a bit retro, if you will, for a state legislature and governor to actually tell police, "No, that's a bit too far."

In New York, despite the amount of spittle flying out of New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg's mouth, Governor David Paterson is going to sign a law that says the police can't keep a database of the names, addresses, and Social Security numbers of every single person they stop and frisk. While "stop and frisk," as the stopping and frisking is called, is still quite a ways over the line of "innocent until proven guilty," at the very least, the cops won't be able to have your name on file so that every time there's a crime in your neighborhood, they come to question or arrest you for suspicion.

As for "stop and frisk," according to the NYPD's own records, "Last year, the police made a record 581,000 stops, bringing the tally since 2004 to nearly three million. Yet more than 85 percent of the stops never led to an arrest or a summons." You got that? In one year, the police intimidated nearly half a million people who didn't even have some weed on them. Oh, and 90% of the people stopped are non-white. And once they do that, the police wanted to keep your info on record forever.

Of course the cops are upset. Of course Bloomberg is upset. Surely, lots of people are willing to give up their rights in order to feel vaguely more safe. But let's let the mayor rather enthusiastically paint the picture of the future in his response to the law: "And what's wrong with keeping the data? We have data on everything. You wait until we have facial recognition software, and somebody's going to have a record of every person that walks down by your house. You just point a camera at them, the software will do it. That's coming. I mean, these days of, we put license plates on your car. You can read those by computer now, and we know where you're driving. Cell phones, everybody knows where you are."

And you know what? He's right. Feel safer?

Just Some Thoughts???

Look I have never been a 9-11 buff. I do not believe that Bush planned it or knew about it in advance. But I do have some genuine questions about Alqaida and building 7. Now there are witnesses who claimed they heard explosions..ok maybe they did or maybe they did not. But I must admit the collapse of building 7 looks like it could be a controlled demolition....just saying. Just look at the videos of other controlled implosions vs a building collapse and decide for yourself. Because if it was structural damage then why did it fall like that? It was never hit by anything and how how come no other buildings near it collapsed also? Can someone find me footage of collapses that mimic building 7. Then if it was a controlled demolition then that means that the explosives were placed there in advance which gives the 9-11 people conspiracy ammo. Check out the videos below. Also if Alqaida was blamed for 9-11 how come Osama and Al-qaida are not charged by the justice dept for the 9-11 crime.It's been nine years.
