The real wonder of the Mark Foley scandal may be how it stayed under wraps for so long. Gee, could it be because the press won't cover GOP scandals?
As the story continued to pick up steam, Capitol Hill journalists came out of the woodwork to declare that they, too, knew that the Florida Republican had a reputation for coming on to teenage Congressional pages. One D.C. reporter recounted getting a number of email printouts from a source in May - the same messages that eventually brought about Foley's downfall after they turned up last week on an anonymous blog called Stop Sex Predators. The reporter sid she found the emails "inappropriate and a little bit creepy," but not newsworthy enough to get her editor's support for a full-blown investigation. Remember when Gingrich was Speaker of the House, he charged hooker fees to his credit card but the whore press refused to print the story.
When the Clinton rumors hit, the entire press ran with it like a dog with a stolen ribeye. They created entire TV networks to run any wild-ass rumor Drudge could fabricate and the Whore NY Times printed every unfounded allegation on the front page above the fold. When the sponsor of the Exploited Children law was caught sexing up children, the whore press refused to print the story.
If they would just print the facts, we could call it news.
