In a word Democracy!
Hey it seems the Bush administration only likes democracy when the people they want in office wins. I mean he actually said that the Palestinians elected a corrupt government. He speaks from experience.

Go to sleep and let the band play on!
This posting is from one of my "partners in crime" Dennis (Red) Menace.
Abortion, Scalito and the last of the red hot barking
monkeys. Ok! For those of you in the normal flow of things
there probably isn't much here. As part of the
Republican Revolution (funny word that one,
revolution). In one sense denoting change, and in the
other referring to travelling the circumfrence of a
circle only to come back to the point you started at)
that began in 1996, was enthroned by judical edict in
2000 and weighs heavily now on the minds of
America-hating lefty types like me as the ice melts,
Europe freezes and the coasts drown.
Don't worry, says one of my favorite songs, go
back to sleep. Another, by the same artist, muses simply, "Learn
to swim." Big changes are coming in this grand revolution,
and as a student of history and the epistemes (look it
up fer crissakes...do a google on Foucault) that guide
it I find this all quite fascinating. Though I was
unable to make the show last week because I am still
forced to rely on 100 year old technology (the
internal combustion engine, more on this in a sec) as
a means of transportation, I did get a chance to call
in (nice job Jon, et al.) and there were a few points
I raised that I'd like to go over again:
Some thoughts on Martin Luther King, Jr. and his holy
day
My friends on the right like to start these types
of discussions with a nice first hand anecdote to set
the theme. I normally try and avoid these as they are
the least valuable of anything passing as a fact, but
in the spirit of the new times that are dawning as I
write, well...here goes.
In the last couple years I've worked a lot of
construction, and one of these jobs happened to be
a-way down south in Dixie. Everyone knew that I was a
Yankee and a liberal and had a general disdain for the
"Georges" of the world. One day the owner of the
company was standing with us as we had our morning
meeting and someone asked him jokingly if we would get
Dr. King's holiday off from work.
"Hell if we're going to do that why not kill 6
more niggers and take a week off," he replied.
Inspiring, no?
I often find it funny when people on the right
talk about the left, or insult its leaders. Surely
Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi or Teddy Kennedy don't
necessarily strike us as prominent historical figures,
nor would we place a Jesse Jackson even or an Al
Sharpton on the same level as a Martin or a Malcolm.
Those of the right could point to figures from the
last fifty years who had pushed the cause to the point
of their now successful revolution with pride, even if
the rest of us look at a Nixon or a Reagan or a Bush
as common criminals made mad by power.
See, the thing is the great heroes of the left
aren't here to lead us now into the new dawn because,
by and large, they all got their fucking brains blown
out by some fucking hillbilly. Funny how that works.
Now that Martin is safely dead we can honor him,
with this one day, where maybe, just maybe, white
could look to non-whites and admit and ask forgiveness
for the crimes of racism...for the lynchings and rapes
and the beatings and the dogs and standing in the
courthouse door talking about miscegenation and not
mixing the races.
Some do. There would be no reason to continue the
dialogue between the races if there weren't peope from
all sides that can see past the biases ground into all
of us from birth. Dr. King knew this as he expanded
the civil rights cause in the last years of his life
and prepare to launch his anti-poverty poor people's
movement. Malcolm, too saw the truth of this after he
came back from Mecca and founded his own organization,
expressing a willingness to work with whoever was for
the cause of social justice and equality.
Most don't. White's get defensive when you bring
up the past. Blacks get angry and vent their
frustration with a system that is 1) slow to change,
and 2) unwilling to admit when it was wrong.
So what does King George do on the holiday? Does
he go to the old south and try and reach out to the
people left behind and left out, the people left
stranded on their roof tops because he was too busy to
give a shit if anyone was helping them? Does he try
and prove that he is a "uniter and not a
divider-upper?"
No. He goes to the Lincoln memorial and gives
thanks to a white guy for freeing the slaves...go
figure.
Now I mostly feel sorry for white's (those
individuals that you may often here or see me refer to
as "dumb crackers") still so caught up in some fantasy
facism ideal like white pride to see that they have
more in common with poor blacks than they do with rich
whites. It seems such a simple and obvious fact of
life in America that its shocking to me when people
dont get it. As long as we fight each other we are too
busy to fight the system that oppresses us all.
Which leads me into issue 2, namely: the
expansion of the powers of the presidency and the
executive branch.
It is not legal, in that old fashioned sense,
namely the laws on the books, for King George to
autorize spying on american citizens. My good friends
and obviously much more intelligent friends on the
right have made it clear that the above statement os
complete balderdash. That either something we will
call "provisional law" allows for it, or according to
AG Gonzles, the president was given this authority by
congresses authorization of military force after 9/11.
They expressly didn't give him this power, but who
cares really, cus he's doing it anyway and its for our
safety right, and that's what they really care about,
Bush and Rummy and the gang...our safety.
And the band plays on: "Go back to sleep..."
There is more going on here than this though.
More going on with the fight to overturn Roe and the
push for us all to accept that Alito is really a level
head guy, though he spent 25 years producing writing
that suggested he was, in fact, another right
wing-nut.
The president speaks only to groups that agree
with him. Protestors are always kept on the periphery
in what we call now "free speech zones." Funny how
when you want to protest King George and his imperial
and bloody war and do something to bring the senseless
killing to an end you have to stand a mile away...but
if you are a woman going into planned parenthood to
get a pap smear to make sure you don't have cervical
cancer, well, then the free speech zone is the
sidewalk out front and you have to pass through a
bunch of red hot barking monkeys holding up big
pictures of aborted fetuses.
Facism has a vile way of creeping in. What's the
line from the German guy? I paraphrase, "First they
came for the gypsies and I did nothing, Then they came
for the jews and I did nothing. And then they came for
me...and no one did anything."
We on the left don't fit and don't belong here
anymore. Just ask them, my many good friends on the
right. This is their country. Jesus is their savior.
Jehovah in all his wisdom is their god. And, by golly,
the bible and the constitution means what they say it
does. End of discussion...
They might profess an interest in new ideas,
thinking outside the box, challenging the status quo,
but they don't really mean it and very slowly they are
and will continue to criminalize dissident voices. If
we are to fight the enemy then we must be united, yes?
Don't worry, its for your own good, freedom is slavery
and knowledge is ignorance and the Right way is
obviously the right way...it even says so in the name.
They used to burn left-handed folks at the stake,
ya know. And so it goes...

Say goodbye to the dummy!
Since insecure neo-con idiots can not respect difference of opinion and also I do not want this site abused any more. Effective immediately no comment written will be posted immediately to the site. They will be posted but only after they are filtered. Which means you can still post your agreements or disagreements concerning me,its just that you will never hear from starchild or any other neo con idiot ever again due to their abusive and name calling they will be automatically filtered out. I have a list of people who I will allow to post immediately to this blog and I will be contacting you about it. So have fun and know that you never have to worry about those idiots again.
The idiot strikes again!
Lets all have a laugh at the child who keeps posting. Go ahead post something else stupid silly child. This guy is so insecure.
I am sure you have read the comments from the so called little dumb child or the "child". You see folks this wannabe host can not talk principle so what he is reduced to is gay name calling. It made his small day for me to respond to him. The more he insults the less he knows. I will always remove entries from this person because all Mr.M does is insult. What an idiot this person really is. You see folks, this person will not call the show because they do not want to face real opposition so this is their only outlet. Maybe this person has gay issues I do not know or nor do I care.
But just remember this that everytime he posts something stupid just remember it is a testament to our side and how we are correct and they are lost so lets laugh at this human debris and wait for his next stupid posting.I would love to actually have an open dialogue between myself and the "child" but I do not think they he has the capacity to be on my level. But I will await a negative posting in regards to this. You can do it "child". Keep posting here on this blog because I am way out of your league. Don't hate "lil child" Appreciate!

Fake Outrage!
Oh wow let's see..... Hilary makes an accurate comment about the adminstration and the republicans are pretending that they are upset about it and that they never engage in race baiting. I will not waste too much time with this because this is so stupid. You see if you watch fox news or listen to right wing talk radio you will never know that Newt Gingrinch said the exact same thing about twelve years ago to describe democrats and guess what?........The republicans forgot to be upset with Newt. Also out of all the things Hilary said. They keep coming back to this plantation comment. Hilary said it on purpose and got the desired response. Here is the exact statement so you can see what she actually said.
"has been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talking about,It has been run in a way so that nobody with a contrary view has had a chance to present legislation, to make an argument, to be heard."
"We have a culture of corruption, we have cronyism, we have incompetence," she said. "I predict to you that this administration will go down in history as one of the worst that has ever governed our country." Out of all this they just heard plantation.
She told the truth.....any questions

Hey "Dumb Child"! Tick Tock Tick Tock!
Lets all have a laugh at the child who keeps posting. Go ahead post something else stupid silly child. This guy has been so hell bent on insulting me that he just made one crucial mistake. Tick Tock "dumbchild".

A TRUE PATRIOT!
So we're seeking some common ground yes? Two wings
make the eagle fly, what what?
First, I'd ask you to site some specific refrences of
the "untrue things" you've heard or seen me write or
say about Bush. It is certainly not my intention to
spread more falsehoods. It is my intent to spread some
light to some of the dark corners that the
establishment wishes us not to see.
Here we will likely come to the first obstacle between
us: bias in the media. Those of the right-wing would
have us believe that the media as an interest is
liberal, or left-leaning. Those on the left see
corporate interests that could not help but be biasd
towards their owners, namely, the people on the right
who believe that the media is liberal...ad naseum, ad
infinitum.
I may be wrong, but i believe in logic this is termed
a solipism. A circular argument...
Still, we have to discern and refine our thoughts and
opinions based on the information that comes to us via
the media. As a media consumer I try to draw from as
wide a range of material and mediums so as to have a
reasonable handle on what everyone is saying.
As a media producer, first through the Free Press,
then through the show and my latest career venture, I
admit a bias. I like underdogs, I like the meek, the
poor, the weak of heart. I like to champion their
causes because no one else, or few else, will.
Here we reach the second obstacle: interpretation.
What's it all mean? Wars and elections and taxes and
the whole big world...what does it all mean? I would
assume, I think reasonably, that you are a Christian.
You have sent me religious material, and I have the
sense that you are, moreover, an apocalyptic
Christian, waiting for the rebuilding of the temple
and the gathering of the armies at Megiddio.
I must admit that I don't fully grasp the brand of
Christianity that seems all the craze these days.
There is a hateful attitude that drives a group of
people to pickett someone's funeral. Do we have common
ground here, Chris?
I too look to the skies and await the return of the
son of man. I look to the day of judgement when we
will all have to account and atone for our actions. I
look to the day when blessed will be the peacemakers,
and the meek inherit the earth. What a grand thing...
We all have our filters. From my good book and all
those sunday school lessons I learned tolerance,
humility, and forgiveness. Do we have common ground
here?
You speak of national identity, and I will tell you
first off that I am leery of nationalism as a means of
motivating a people. I am not threated by a
pluralistic society that can speak with many voices.
My concept of personal liberty is the freedom from
nationalistic or other "group think" philosophies.
Still, there is something to being a nation. We are
unique species among all the races of man, because we
are all races of man. And woman. Queer and straight
and black and white and indian and african and polish
and the whole sordid lot. We are all america, so in my
vision there is no national identity without near
absolute personal liberty.
I also believe, futhermore, that the basis of our
government and the spirit of our constitution should
always stem from a deep and profound respect for the
liberty and soverignty of the individual. Is there
common ground here?
Here we reach the next road block: the culture wars.
I am to assume that if not you, then most right-wing
Christians, republicans, neo-cons and the whole lot,
would be really threatened if my sister and her wife
could have a legally sanctioned union? I am further to
assume that the idea of a worker owning their own
labor is also to be ranked among the many liberal "bad
ideas." I am also to assume that the very idea that,
given the vast resources and talents at the disposal
of mankind, that the idea that everyone should be fed
and clothed, provided shelter and safe drinking water,
that everyone should be afforded the basic necesities
of life...this too would be another bugaboo sent to
threaten the hallowed halls of western civilization?
I too see a great nation crumbling. I see broken
infrastructure, corruption, and the consoldation of
power in the hands of fewer and fewer people. I see
the people's fears used as a means to keep them
divided and servile. I see the slow, steady
degredation of our enviroment as the insatiable
american appetite continues to devour more and more
resources.
We may argue about forms of economic exchange,
supply-side trickle down or estate taxes or why it is
a threat to the economy to suggest that people on
minimum wage should get a dollar raise, but how it
never seems a threat to the economy when a ceo tacks
on another milion dollar bonus.
We could argue these finer points all we want, but in
the end the system we have in place now and that looms
large over the world, global corporate commodification
of every aspect of life, well, that system is simply
not sustainable.
Maybe the money or the oil or the potable water runs
out in 2040, or 2090, or maybe we even make it another
century as a nation...what then? What does the future
hold Chris? Were all the wars and votes and lives cast
before history so we could end up handing over to our
great grandchildren one world under Halliburton? Is
there no limiting the market? Ever? What do they call
this...worshipping mannon?
As to leadership. Striking new ground may be bold, and
bold action may be what the situation warrants.
Sometimes though, especially if you have no recon of
the wilderness, if you have no idea where to cross the
streams, or no concept of where the ice is
weak...well, sometimes caution and wisdom should weigh
out over bold action, lest the whole enterprise be
lost...my idea is that a real leader knows the
difference between the two. Do we have common ground
here?
Lincoln made the point: a house divided can not stand.
I respect you, and everyone that aligns themselves
with the right wing of this great eagle. I hope that
in the end we can accept one another and face the
challenges as one nation, indivisble...but I will not
willingly see this nation congealed under a banner of
demographic marketing, christian fundamentalism and
the morals of the Spartan war state.
See any common ground?
dennis-the red menace
make the eagle fly, what what?
First, I'd ask you to site some specific refrences of
the "untrue things" you've heard or seen me write or

the whole big world...what does it all mean? I would
assume, I think reasonably, that you are a Christian.

The Coward Returns!(aka Baby Huey)
Lets all have a laugh at the child who keeps posting. Go ahead post something else stupid silly child.
I am sure you have read the comments from the so called little star child or the "child".

Fair is Fair Letterman!
I was disgusted at the exchange between David Letterman and Bill O"Reilly the other day. Now I am no big fan of O'Reilly but in all fairness he was ambushed by Letterman and Paul Schaeffer they were trying to ridicule him. I mean the interview started off nice Letterman was giving him a honest talk of how that was crap of that Christmas attack business Fox and Bill have been pushing. Cool I was with Letterman on that part. But we parted ways when he got off that subject and into waters he had no business swimming. This is why the left gets teased and accused of going off half cocked. Letterman while insulting O'Reilly admitted he never watched the show so Bill rightfully said then how can you comment on my show. Now I do not feel totally sorry for Bill because I do watch his show and he does the same thing plus he lies but I do not like to see people get ambushed whether its liberals or conservatives(notice I did not say neo-con there is a difference I hate them)sadly Letterman stooped to O'Reilly and Hannity's level you have to call them on their crap whether you like them or not! You see people are always criticizing myself and the show but can not bring a single instance of substance only name calling which Letterman engaged in.
What Bill should have done is slapped Letterman and kicked Paul in his nuts and walked out.(damn lightweights) Just Kidding! Letterman quit doing your imitation of Rosie O'Donnell and get a clue. Now some of you may have some kind of cognitive dissonance that I critiqued Bill O'Reilly but yet took his side... Well if you can not understand independent opinion then you are beyond help.

Bonfire of the Inanities!
With all the things going on in this country. I mean with the whitehouse being overun with felons and scandals in the whitehouse and congressional scandals I am glad that Bill O'Reilly decided to really talk about what really on the minds of americans...holiday salutations. What a Jerk. But now we come face to face with another neo-con scandal with Abramoff. Reminds me of ole Cunningham in california.
But say this much for Cunningham. He set a good example for his fellow Republicans by resigning in disgrace. If by next year at this time we’ve seen several more Republicans blubbering like defrocked beauty queens after copping pleas, 2006 will seem blessedly shorter than 2005.
Remember this: (thinking americans only please)
George W. Bush picked a fight he was sure he could win — because the con artists who own and operate him told him he could. So in front of every other kid in the world, he called his victim out to the playground and had six or seven of his goons restrain the little guy while he hit him with everything he could find. In doing so, he pissed off everyone else on the playground. So when Bush turned away from his bloodied victim to raise his hands in triumph, he was hit squarely from behind with a two-by-four. Repeatedly. And it hasn’t stopped for two and a half years. Boy its sure good to see the devil get his due. Isn't God wonderful!

Crazy Quotes!
Here are some interesting quotes I discovered.
"As you can probably see I was injured myself, not here at the hospital but in combat with a cedar. I eventually won."
-- Dubya, joking about getting wounded clearing brush on his fake ranch with amputee soldiers,
"We must never tolerate one law for the Ruler, and another for the Ruled."
-- Henry Hyde, back when the president was a Democrat (damn hyocrite)
Henry, where are you?
Isn't it time to speak up?
"I don’t know of any legal basis to go around the FISA court. There may be some, but I’m not aware of it. And here’s the concern I have. We can’t become an outcome-based democracy. Even in a time of war, you have to follow the process, because democracy is about a process."
-- Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-Whore)
Lindsey, you impeached the last president who you thought broke the law.
What's stopping you this time?
"This needs to be investigated, because whoever leaked this information
has done the U.S. and its national security a great disservice."
-- Mitch McConnell (R-Whore) pretending Osama had no idea Bush could listen to phone calls.
"If leaking classified info is such a big deal, then when is Karl Rove being fired?
Seriously. When is Karl being fired?
Or is it only a crime to leak when it proves that Bush is committing a felony?"
-- John Aravosis.
I had fun with these quotes it seems the neo-cons have a different set of standards when its their guy.
