Got A Question?

I have a question.
Don't get mad - I'm just asking.
Is the thrill of extreme mountain climbing that you might die?

Why the hell do you climb a mountain in December?
Wouldn't climbing July make a lot more sense?

Plus, how do you get lost in 2006?
For years, we've put tracking collars on whales and grizzly bears.
With satellites, we can track them to the meter!

Climbers are too "manly" to take trackers with them?
Is it no fun without the chance of dying?

They said one guy (now deceased) "pinged" his sister on his cell phone.
Gee, they couldn't borrow $100 for a satellite phone?

Amazon.com will sell you a GPS system for under $500.
If you can afford to climb Everest and McKinley, why the hell
can't you afford a $500 GPS locator to save your lost ass?

If they wanted to screw up - should we be sad for them?

If they insist on swimming drunk in the river in the dark,
what should we say when their bodies washes ashore?
This isn't like the family who got stuck in the snow last week

You know me - I'm not trying to be cruel.
but the reason you and I are alive right now is because we chose
not to climb Oregon's highest peak in the middle of a winter blizzard,

People like Steve Irwin, Evel Kneivel, King Cobra handlers and the like,
they choose to shut off the safety valve and gamble.

Yesterday at least 60 people risked their lives to save the three gamblers.
That's crazy.
